Jamie Pawlus is a conceptual artist working primarily in the urban environment. She utilizes familiar materials and visual systems, including commercial and transportation signage, to carry messages that can be intimate, humorous, poignant, or unexpected. Many of these messages originate in anecdotal moments from everyday life, transforming the personal into public encounters that invite surprise, recognition, and connection.
