THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE
Created for the CTA's Arts in Transit Program
The Center of the Universe is a cosmic diagram within the footprint of the Jefferson Park Transit Station that calls into question our significance in the universe. Inspired by Polish Astronomer Copernicus’ astronomical model in which the Earth and planets revolve around the Sun at the center of the solar system.
Artwork resembling CTA signage communicates directions to the human condition, while the Sun and its radiating, splintered sun rays surround travelers awaiting transport to their next destination.
